MIVOR – Collection Expansion 2021/22

A few weeks ago we were thrilled to introduce MIVOR’s second collection expansion for 2021 to you! We are now here to give you some more details about the expansion. It included the “Our Enlightenment” Oversize T-Shirt and the Docker Cap “Golden Eye of Horus” in green and khaki. The designs follow the MIVOR manner to represent a religion or an ethnicity.

The sun on the “Our Enlightenment” is a substitute for the Swastika. A symbol in shape of a hooked cross, which symbolises the auspicious footprints of the Buddha and has a similar meaning as the wheel of dharma – a representation of  the founder of Buddhism, his teaching and universal moral order as well as the walking of the path to enlightenment. For obvious reasons the usage of the Swastika was not possible. So we choose this alternative symbol which also stands for Sūryaprabha, an “enlightenment being” whose specialty is sunlight and good health.

We decided to go with two colours for the “Golden Eye of Horus”: khaki and dark green. Both are perfect in combination with the golden Eye of Horus, which is the symbol of everything that has to do with completion and healing, is also associated with protection because it serves as a protective element against the evil eye and in a broader sense against all conceivable dangers. It is accented with gold to show that it’s eternal and indestructible. While green was associated with the Eye of Horus and doing “green things” meant to behave in a positive and life-affirming manner, khaki shall represent the desert in Egypt.

The big picture

As you can see, light is the superordinate symbol of this collection expansion. There is a simple but important  reason for that. These pieces shall not only bring you some light for the current shorter days, MIVOR’s vision of coexistence, respect and openness has the goal to create a brighter future with as little darkness as possible.
